New student offer for dance lessons

What our Dance Studio Students say...

Jaclyn one of our Scottsdale Ballroom Dance students
"When I started taking dance lessons with Hilary I not only received the best instruction from a talented Dancer, but I gained an awesome friend in the process. I absolutely love Hilary and her passion for dance.

She broke everything down so that I could understand it...she gave analogies and explained everything so that I could pick up on the instruction quickly…she knew how to speak my language.

I was amazed at my performance after only working with her for a few weeks and that is why I continue to work with her as often as I can.

I would highly recommend Hilary to everyone!"

Jaclyn - Scottsdale, AZ

Another one of our Dance Students speaks...

Chris Berger a fine ambassador for Gainey Ballroom Dance Lessons in Scottsdale
"I took dozens of lessons at other dance studios but wasn't progressing to the level I was hoping to achieve. Then a friend recommended Hilary Gainey (Gainey Dance) to me and the difference was phenomenal.

I learned more in a few lessons and advanced my competitive skills farther than I had in years of private lessons at other studios.

"Hilary is a master of the most modern style and technique nuances required to achieve at todays Ballroom Dance competitions..."

I now regularly make the final rounds of all the competitions I attend. I would recommend Hilary to anyone who wants to quickly advance their dancing skills to a level that will make them shine in everything from the casual social dance scene to the highest levels of competition."

If you want to learn to dance, we have an option for you...

No Prior Dance Experience required!

Private Dance Lessons

Private, one-on-one Dance Classes

The ideal way to learn: You are coached one-on-one by your own instructor. High-quality, dance lessons are structured to the Gainey Method© but set at your learning pace. Ideal for complete newbies to dancers with prior experience. Our private lessons are offered by experienced instructors and are priced extremely competitively (feel free to compare against other quality studios.) The quality of our instruction is such that we encourage most of our students to compete in dance competitions.

Private Couples Dance Lessons

Private, Dance Classes for Couples

Many couples ranging from "newly dating" to married-for-years choose to start dance classes as a means to broaden the horizons of their relationship. Let's face it, which couple wouldn't want to dance well together if they could? We make it possible through affordable coaching and several types of classes. If you're tired of eating at the same old restaurants for entertainment and you want to open the doors of your relationship to a whole new world of possibilities, few things can offer you both something as long-lasting and fun as dance.

Group Dance Classes

Group Dance Classes and fun "Crash Courses"

Our Group Dance Classes and unique crash courses are simply a blast! We offer these at our home studio as well as off-site locations. These classes range from fitness and weight-loss oriented classes (still structured around dance technique) to single style classes. These classes offer you a great way to walk away a tangible skill from each class in an affordable and efficient way. These are particularly good for those just wanting to learn a certain type of dance and the opportunity to practice it in an emersion environment. The format in most cases, is very much like a class you might find in a gym: experienced dancers will tend to gravitate toward the front, while shy, newbies may gravitate toward the back of the class. This allows people to observe and learn from the more experienced dancers in a comfortable, fun way.

Wedding Dance Lessons

Wedding Dance Instruction

Most about-to-weds have massive anxiety surrounding their first dance. We not only offer great dance classes for your wedding dance but we also have spent a little time thinking about those "little extras" that add to your wedding experience such as teaching a few extra steps that you may use on your honeymoon, an option to teach your wedding party and/or family as well as discounts for future dance lessons if you decide to continue with dance as a fun, part of your future marriage. We believe that dance truly is a great asset to any relationship but particularly a marriage. Any time you two step onto the dance floor after your marriage, it will take you back to that first dance.

No more excuses... no matter what your style, gender or preference in music, no matter what your financial situation and no matter who you are, we have a variety of options for anybody. Most of all, we want to teach you! We know that if you give it a chance, you will love dancing as much as we do.

The most common phrase that we hear from our learners is: "I wish I had started dancing years ago." Don't let another song, party or special moment go by...

Some of our most popular dance classes:

Hot Salsa!
group dance class

This short course is one of our most popular courses intended to equip you with a much sought after skill... SALSA!... it is always "!muy caliente!". Class is open to the public as well as present Gainey dancers. If you're hooked on the idea of being able to hit any club and salsa the night away, this is an excellent, affordable option to learn to salsa in a fun, comfortable environment.

Couples or singles welcome!

Skill Level : Novice to Intermediate

Recommended pre-reqs : None. Ideally, in order to get the most out of this Salsa course, participants would benefit from about 2-3 prior classes in salsa and/or mambo. Having said that, at least half of the class is typically completely new to Salsa. The course is progressive, teaching and solidifying the fundamentals and moving into more advanced, "flashy" applications of this fun, highly useful american night club dance style.

Ballroom Burn ™
group dance class

An intense fitness class designed to burn fat and improve endurance using dance techniques. Great for anyone from competitive level to absolute beginners. Especially great for those who prefer to dance to get in shape. The exercises used actually translate into usable dance steps and techniques - you're learning while you're working out. Rest-In-Peace flabby waistlines... welcome dancer bodies!.

Couples or singles welcome!

Skill Level : Novice to Advanced* (focus is fitness not skill!)

Recommended pre-reqs : None. Only the desire to become competitive dancer fit! Boredom with only lifting weights or running a treadmill is useful - be ready to enjoy fitness training again! Participants with health conditions or those who have not exercised for some time should first consult a physician to ensure that they are able to paticipate in vigorous exercise.

Mambo vs. Salsa
group dance class

A showdown between these two cousins... one from Cuba, the other from the intergration of Cuban and Puerto Rican culture into New York (most Puerto Ricans will tell you that Salsa is uniquely theirs! - don't argue just dance and enjoy.) Mambo and Salsa can be danced to the same music allowing you a "flashy" alternative that is incredibly fun to watch and perform. The similarities in these dances is both historically and technically interesting. This course is great for people that already enjoy either of these styles but want to add some flare and flash as well as learn "the other cousin".

Couples or singles welcome!

Skill Level : Novice to Advanced

Recommended pre-reqs : Ideally some experience in salsa or mambo is a plus, even if you have only stumbled through salsa once or twice, an understanding of the basic is useful. Some novices will use this course as a crash-course into both of these dances.

The Latin Night Club Survival Kit
group dance class

Help! You're stranded in the middle of a night club on Latin night with great dancers, having fun and looking hot! What do you do? Easy! You break out your "Latin Nightclub Survival Kit", compliments of Gainey Dance. Inside your little hot box of skills... Salsa, Merengue and Bachata - !Aye Curumba! These three dances form the bulk of music played on most Latin club nights. They are each a little different. If you learned Salsa and were disappointed to be sitting out many songs... this course will instantly correct this problem for you. If Latin music is playing, you'll have the steps.

Couples or singles welcome!

Skill Level : Novice to Intermediate

Recommended pre-reqs : Ideally some experience in salsa or mambo is a plus but most dance course attendees have little to no experience. We strongly recommend that you plan to hit the clubs right after this course so that you don't lose the skills.

Crash Course for Coast-to-Coast Swingers
group dance class

East and West Coast Swing are both very popular dances that can be used in a number of dance settings - Slow Blues, Swing and even Country music. Although they share similar roots they are each a little different. A useful step for anyone of any age. This course is often appreciated by swingers with some prior experience with either west or east coast swing.

Couples or singles welcome!

Skill Level : Novice to Intermediate

Recommended pre-reqs : Ideally some experience with swing or country-type dance is a plus. The vast majority of typical dance students are completely new to swing.
